I recently read this article, and thought it was dead on. As a wedding photographer, I thought planning my own wedding would be a piece of cake. After all, I've photographed and attended hundreds of weddings, and know the industry inside and out. A piece of cake it was not! Like the couple in this article, looking back, I really wish Sean and I had hired a wedding planner. So often we get caught up in the excitement of getting engaged and planning a wedding, we forget what it takes to actually make the day come together the way we envision it in our heads!
To my lovely couples, I strongly suggest you consider this particular advice from the article: "At the beginning of your wedding planning, sit down as a couple and consider how much time, how much budget and how many helpers you have available for big-day preparations. Consider which areas you could do with professional support, and which planning areas you're less interested in and happy to outsource to someone. Look into wedding planners in your local area; even if you're hesitant, it won't cost you anything to give them a call and find out the range and price of their services. It could be your best way to a smoother, less stressful and more romantic wedding planning experience."
If you do decide to hire a planner, I highly recommend Tangorra Wedding Planning. I have worked with Linnea and her team on several weddings, and hands down, they are some of the best of the best. Linnea has selected a very talented team who get the job done, and help you get through your day with a smile on your face!
